Kate, Emily, Kate's friend Sarah, and I were watching the space shuttle taking off this evening and marveling at how fast it was going - 14,000 miles per hour - when the following conversation took place:
Me: Wow! The space shuttle is going 14,000 miles per hour!
Kate: Wow! Sarah, my mom can run 16 miles!
Sarah: Oh.
Me: But not that fast.
Kate: I wish you did. Then you'd be home in a jiffy.
