I Can Still Run!!!

Ah...it is gently snowing outside. The temperatures are in the low 30s. There are some things I should be doing but, I made myself a priority today and went for a run. Okay, my husband also said I needed a run (have I been that bad?).

It was beautiful. Not a lot of traffic, not too slippery. I got in an easy 4.5 to 4.75 miles...not really sure because the Garmin needed charged. I know I was out there for 45 minutes because that's how long the Run Digger Run episode was. I was a little overdressed because I ended up ditching my jacket about a 1.5 miles into it. Can I just tell you how much I love my Smart Wool socks? They kept my feet warm and dry.

Now it is off to make some Christmas lists (no, I haven't really started yet...hmmm), clean up the house (Christmas has been picked up but the first day of Christmas vacation has hit), and maybe do some baking (I'm crossing my fingers). First, a hot shower. I'm starting to get cold.

Have a great weekend!

Yeah! Good for you. We got socked with over a foot of snow and I had a 1:15 run on tap for today. It didn't happen as the park and sidewalks were barely passable. That long on a treadmill was also not enticing. Sledding and brunch with my husband and son seemed a more enjoyable choice.

I've seen those smartwool socks, but never thought about wearing them to run. If you say they keep your feet warm then I'll have to try them.

I wondered how much snow you had. We've just had maybe a 1/4", more to the north. It has been a long time since we've had a enough snow to shut things down (definitely, before we had kids). Sledding and brunch sound like fun - we're waiting to break out the tube we got for the girls last year.

My sister-in-law gets me a pair for Christmas each year. I love them. With all the wet I ran through yesterday, my feet were dry and warm. Even in the summer, they feel really good, nice a soft.

Enjoy the snow :-)

Hi Karen,
Thanks for the note. I can't seem to figure out how to follow your blog. Any tips?
Hope you are wonderful. I think my sister Cindy has been a bit swamped... I don't think you've met her yet. She lives on 10- in the house the maintenance guy used to live in.
Best, Sarah Kline

Sorry, I can't help you on following. I haven't really figured it out, either, so I just visit every so often.

I haven't met your sister yet. I think she is in the house next to where we first lived when we moved here. I subbed at preschool a couple of times and thought I might get to meet your niece but she wasn't there the days I was. I'm sure I'll run into her one of these days.

Take care!
